Why people before Noah lived 900 years

By Mark Berrier

  1. There may have been a cloud canopy (See Job 37:18 and Genesis 1:6f.) that helped them in the following ways:
    1. It would have caused a hyperbaric chamber that gave them double the atmospheric pressure of today.
    2. It would have protected them from direct sunlight (ultraviolet).
    3. It gave them 100% humidity so skin would not dry out. (“…mist watered all the surface of the ground.” Genesis 2:6, Hebrew text)
    4. It would also have made earth’s oxygen double what it is today. (Fossilized amber that has been discovered and studied contains bubbles that are 38% oxygen. Today the best air is 19% oxygen. Not only that, but HOT [Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy] has helped chair-bound stroke victims and others walk out of the chamber after several treatments.)
  2. All those living before the Flood were vegetarians. See Genesis 1:29f. (This also applied to all the animals.) The plants would get their mineral content from soils that were not depleted as they are today. (Meat has from 10 to 10,000 heavy elements in it; vegetables, fruits, nuts and grains do not. Heavy elements cause earlier death.)
  3. Mankind and animals lived together without stress or fear. (Compare Genesis 9:2f.)
  4. Compared to today, there was 16-32 times the amount of electricity in the air. (One of the magnetic forces of the earth has a 1402-year half-life; this means that before the Flood, there was so much electricity in the air that bacteria, viruses and parasites could not live outside the ground, so people and animals would not get sick.)
  5. The genetic code was absolutely pure. This meant that brothers and sisters could marry. After all, who else was there for Cain, Seth and the other early ones? Adam, in a sense, was married to himself! All the power and fecundity of the whole human race was in those people. They had many children (See Genesis 5.).
  6. Originally, people were created to live forever; we are copies of copies, etc.
